As we embark on this exciting journey, we are looking for a dynamic AI Engineer to the Founders to be a cornerstone of our company.
Role Overview:
As our first AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future. You will work closely with the Co-Founders and oversee the build of our foundational platforms while ensuring strategic integration of content and audiences, enhancing the solution's appeal and functionality. This role demands a balance of technical savvy, design acumen, and a deep understanding of customer marketing growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision: Define and articulate the product vision and strategy, aligning with the startup's goals. Drive the product roadmap, setting priorities to achieve product and business objectives.
Design & Development Oversight: Lead the front-end and back-end design and development of the app. Work closely with development and content to create an intuitive user experience.
Market & User Research: Conduct thorough market research and user analysis to understand news consumption behaviours and preferences. Leverage insights to tailor the app's content delivery and personalisation algorithms.
Content Strategy: Collaborate with content teams and leverage your journalism or media background to curate and integrate reputable news sources. Ensure the content strategy aligns with user needs and market trends.
Project Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch. Prioritise features, track progress, and ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, design teams, and business stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and milestones.
User Feedback & Iteration: Implement mechanisms to collect user feedback. Use data-driven insights to iterate and enhance the product, focusing on user engagement and satisfaction.

2+ years’ experience in areas below:
Experience building and training LLM models.
Software development in Python.
Experience with both licensed and open-source AI ecosystems.
Experience with popular AI frameworks such as PyTorch and Transformers.
Demonstrated project work in deep learning, generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Technical training content with compelling code samples and demos.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference for experience with digital media and marketing exposure.
Strong preference for experience with recommendation engines.
The ability to devise strategies for addressing training data challenges, including synthetic data generation.
Track record of building and delivering complex customer-facing desktop applications.
Well versed in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and debugging.
Familiarity with Notion and Slack preferred.
Build large scale data pipelines for data processing and feature generation to ensure consistent data and features are used across model training, online and batch deployments.
Build generalised real-time and stream-processing infrastructure for machine learning applications.
Leverage public data sources to train and fine-tune the AI models.
